Cherese T. Handy, ESQ.
Cherese T. Handy is the founder of Heritage Law Firm, PC. With over 25 years of experience in property law, Cherese is known for her extensive knowledge of land titles and heirs property. Being born and raised in Beaufort County, South Carolina, Cherese has developed strong community ties. Having first-hand knowledge about the community’s concerns regarding heirs property ownership, Cherese became an advocate for preserving family property and using family property to create generational wealth. Being a true “dirt lawyer,” she centers her law practice around land ownership and property rights. Whether it be through resolving title issues, probating estates, or closing real estate transactions, Cherese is dedicated to protecting her clients’ property ownership interests.
Upon earning her Associate Degree in Applied Science/Paralegal from the Technical College of the Lowcountry, Cherese worked as a real estate paralegal for a brief time. She developed her passion for property law when she began her career in searching titles. Cherese worked as a title abstractor for several title companies and law firms in Beaufort County, South Carolina before establishing her own title company, Heritage Title Abstracting Services, LLC where she performed thousands of title searches for various law firms and lenders. Even before Cherese became a licensed attorney, she was deemed an expert in land titles. Cherese has rendered expert testimony in numerous court cases involving property disputes and quiet title actions.
Cherese continued to pursue her goal of becoming an attorney by earning her Bachelor of Science in Social Psychology from Park University in Parkville, Missouri. Thereafter, she earned her Juris Doctor at Savannah Law School in Savannah, Georgia. While attending law school, Cherese was voted the “Fiercest Opponent in the Courtroom.” After being admitted to the South Carolina Bar Association, Cherese decided to remain in her hometown to practice law and serve the community she so loves.
Other than resolving property issues, in her spare time Cherese enjoys kickboxing, Tai Chi, analyzing Marvel movies, and rationalizing unnecessary shoe purchases.

Holly J. Jackson
Holly is an enthusiastic team member who serves our clients with dedication and respect. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Holly made Beaufort, South Carolina, her home in 2011. Holly loves living in Beaufort, and she values the community, which is like a second family to her. Holly attended the Technical College of the Lowcountry and has over six years of legal experience. In 2022, Holly joined Heritage Law Firm, PC, as a probate paralegal. She supports the supervising attorney in probate administration and select estate planning. Holly provides direct support by empathetically guiding and assisting our clients with probating their loved one’s estate. With Holly’s appreciation for details, coupled with her unique ability to multitask, she skillfully conducts research, prepares wills, and forms limited liability companies under the attorney’s supervision.
In Holly’s spare time, she enjoys walks at the beach during sunsets, gardening, and Sonic milkshakes.
